Dave Myers, the business development manager of Hexagon Lincoln, made a very true statement when he said, “Every time the cost of logistics goes up a penny it affects everybody.”
From the transportation companies themselves to the end-users who those goods are being transported to, when logistics costs go up, everyone’s costs go up. With its innovative products, Hexagon Lincoln has been helping its customers push those logistics costs down.
Hexagon Lincoln began 51 years ago manufacturing filament-wound fuel tanks used in various aerospace programs. The company’s research and development in composite materials – such as using liners of aluminum, titanium, Inconel, and plastic with structural laminates using carbon fiber and resin combinations – helped to set it apart in the market. More than 20 years ago, it took that expertise into a new field, manufacturing Type 4 natural gas fuel containers for vehicles using composite materials versus the steel traditionally used in the market.
