Carotek

Understanding that every customer is different and their needs and the issues they have are very diverse, Carotek has adopted the goal of supplying “the power of solutions.” Ranging from simple to complex, Carotek’s broad solutions are designed to meet customers’ mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and integrated technology needs. And to ensure it remains at the top of its game, its capabilities are always growing.

Carotek was founded in 1965 to serve the industrial market in the Carolinas and Virginia. It excelled in this endeavor, and now serves customers throughout the Southeast region. The company considers itself one of the country’s strongest engineering-level agents, distributors and added-value packagers for a variety of industrial-grade process equipment.

“We have built a solid reputation for more than 40 years by meeting the demand of a complex, high-tech industrial environment in a wide range of industry,” the company says. “Our mechanical and electrical shops are designed to custom-build and integrate complex packages. We continue to strive for product improvement and revalue-engineer these packages for better cost and product enhancement.”

Extensive Expertise

The company has developed its operations to ensure it provides the greatest value to its customers. In its 75,000-square-foot facility, Carotek has a 24,000-square-foot mechanical fabrication shop and a 15,000-square-foot UL/CSA panel fabrication shop, as well as 25-ton, 10-ton and five-ton cranes, two paint booths, and drive-in and pull-through loading docks. Additionally, the company’s testing capabilities cover electrical, electronic, hydro, pneumatic, hydraulic, valve assemblies, pump packages, hoists, mechanical engineered packages and electrical control systems.

In the mechanical integration realm, these capabilities help Carotek provide customers with process flow and temperature control, metering and PH control, as well as pump skids, valve automation and manifolds, heat transfer fluid control, fuel oil pump systems, demineralized water systems and pump and blower packages.

In the area of electrical integration, Carotek fabricates instruments, custom enclosures and computer-generated wire marking and component labeling systems.

The company notes that these capabilities have enabled it to serve customers in numerous markets such as pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, food processing, plastics, tobacco, material handling, petrochemical and chemical, automotive, and water and wastewater treatment.

In addition to the engineering and fabrication that Carotek provides, the company also offers extensive field services. “Carotek maintains staff dedicated to a wide array of services for our customers,” the company says. “Field services are available on a 24-hour basis, with factory-authorized warranty and repair for all products distributed by Carotek. We provide hoist repair, including OSHA certification, field troubleshooting for both mechanical products and systems, valve automation and repair, in-plant instrumentation configuration and calibration.”

The company notes it also offers system start-up services, scheduled maintenance contracts, product training for clients’ operators, plant and system audits, and installation services. Carotek’s hoist inspection service involves the necessary documentation and safety training.
