Detmold Group, one of Australia’s leading packaging manufacturers, will build a new global headquarters in Adelaide. The facility, located at Regency Park, is set to centralize multiple business units under one roof, creating a hub that supports innovation, sustainability and collaboration.

Project details underline scale and ambition

Spanning 3,500 square meters across three levels, the facility will unite up to 240 employees currently working at eight sites across Adelaide. By consolidating the operations of Detpak, PaperPak, Detmold Medical and Cup & Carry, the group is streamlining logistics while reshaping internal workflows.

The purpose-built structure will serve as a global command center, supporting both local operations and the group’s wider international network. Scheduled for completion by late 2026, the headquarters will play a strategic role in Detmold’s future direction.

Design and sustainability shape workplace experience

The new headquarters is designed with environmental performance and employee wellbeing in mind. Open-plan layouts, natural light and improved ventilation systems are planned to support health and productivity. Breakout spaces, meeting zones and a rooftop café with a terrace reflect a broader industry focus on more holistic workspaces.

Sustainability is central to the project. Features such as thermal design, external shading and passive cooling strategies are expected to reduce emissions and cut operational costs. On-site parking and end-of-trip amenities will support active commuting.

Strategic partnerships with South Australian expertise

Detmold Group has appointed South Australian firms Centina and Studio Nine as builder and architect, respectively. These partnerships reflect the company’s intent to invest locally while ensuring the facility responds to regional context and workforce needs.

Working with local specialists is expected to deliver a facility grounded in both technical quality and functional relevance. The collaboration highlights the strength of Adelaide’s design and construction sector.

More than a relocation, the new headquarters represents a shift in how Detmold organizes its teams and culture. Centralizing operations is expected to improve collaboration, streamline workflows and strengthen internal cohesion. With a facility that supports both its people and its sustainability goals, Detmold is preparing for the next phase of growth.
