Following a strategic merger in 2025, Righi is expanding globally with pioneering industrial automation solutions
Founded as Righi Elettroservizi in 1991 by Mauro Righi and his sister Valentina and his cousins Aldo Righi and Emiliano Negosanti, the industrial automation company has recently launched Righi Solutions (Righi), following key acquisitions with Sei Sistemi and Viganelli Engineering.
General Manager, Marco Cani, reveals more about the new brand, which began in 2025: “Righi unifies the expertise and technological capabilities of all three companies. This evolution allows us to deliver even more comprehensive and advanced automation solutions. Today, the company employs more than 360 people and operates across several locations – five in Italy and two in Asia.
“Righi offers a broad portfolio of products and services dedicated to industrial automation. Our core business includes the design, manufacture and installation of automation, distribution, and MCC panels, as well as the development of renewable energy self-production systems. Our services cover the entire project life cycle, from hardware and software engineering to commissioning and after-sales support, as well as digitalization and energy efficiency solutions.”
Marco elaborates on Righi’s acquisitions, highlighting how the merger has bolstered the company’s capabilities: “Our growth strategy combines internal development, investments in innovation and the integration of new expertise through targeted acquisitions. The objective is to expand our ability to deliver comprehensive solutions, strengthen our presence across key regions and respond to market needs with greater effectiveness and efficiency. The integration of Sei Sistemi fits perfectly into this vision. They bring in advanced expertise, and their know-how has added significant value, enabling us to accelerate our technological development and broaden our offering. Furthermore, the opening of a new branch in Northern Italy represents a strategic step toward one of the most dynamic and important industrial regions in the country. This presence allows us to be closer to our customers, ensure faster response times and deliver an efficient, high-quality service.”
With plans to close more acquisitions in the future, Righi is currently executing a targeted and structured M&A roadmap. “One transaction planned for this year has already been completed and additional opportunities are under evaluation,” Marco shares. “While it is too early to share specific names, we are confident that these initiatives will further strengthen our technological capabilities and expand our geographical footprint.”
Industrial automation has evolved and increased over the last few years, meaning the demand has grown exponentially and responsiveness has become an essential requirement for maintaining competitiveness within the sector.
“We have strengthened our internal capabilities by investing in R&D and reinforcing both our software and hardware engineering departments,” explains Marco. “Righi aims to increase productivity and reduce energy consumption, and solutions such as predictive maintenance and SCADA platforms for real-time control and monitoring have become key components of today’s industrial strategies. At the same time, we have integrated new companies into our group, creating a highly specialized and complementary ecosystem. This combination of expertise, technologies and methodologies allows us to deliver more advanced and complete solutions that align with market needs and customer expectations.”
Such technologies include the implementation of the AutoStore system in Righi’s warehouse, designed to enhance the efficiency of internal operations, by automating logistics processes, handling increasing volumes and improving storage and material handling – without expanding its physical footprint. “Integrating with our WMS, the system has delivered faster picking times, full material traceability and a more compact, fully digitalized warehouse, optimizing the entire supply
chain,” says Marco. “In addition to that, we’ve undertaken a significant project in the development of a fully automated cold storage facility for one of our clients in the food industry,” he continues.
“The aim was to automate the storage of frozen products while ensuring full operational continuity and maintaining the cold chain. We manage the electric design, the PSC and SCADA software development and the supply of automation panels, as well as the installation of electric systems and handling equipment. The result is a fully integrated solution with real-time metering and faster shipping times. It’s a concrete example of how we combine automation, logistics and advanced control technologies in highly demanding environments.”
Additionally, Righi is committed to reducing its environmental impact through concrete actions, listing sustainability as a core value for the business. “In all our facilities, we have installed photovoltaic systems that significantly reduce our energy consumption from the grid,” states Marco. “We have also introduced water dispensers and reusable bottles, aiming to eliminate single use plastic and encourage more responsible behavior within the company. We have installed electric vehicle charging stations for both our company fleet and for our employees.
“I’d like to add that our employees are the true driving force behind Righi. We are deeply committed to fostering diversity, inclusion, and meritocracy. Everyone is valued and placed at the center of our growth journey. We believe that a motivated team is essential to meeting future challenges and driving innovation across everything we do, so we are always ready to invest in our people.”
2026 is set to be full of exciting opportunities for Righi, with the opening of its new branch in India, which Marco describes as a ‘rapidly growing market.’ “This is new territory for us, but since the potential is so high, we believe it’s the right move for our internationalization and somewhere we can take our expertise in industrial automation,” he concludes.
“We’ll also continue to reinforce our local and global position through strategic acquisitions that will expand our capabilities, enter new segments, and serve international customers even more effectively and extensively. Our ambition is to become a global reference point for companies seeking a partner that can support the entire industrial plant lifecycle. We will continue investing in our people and our organizational developments, ensuring that Righi evolves into a solid modern structure, capable of delivering consistently high standards wherever we operate. In short, our goal for the next five years is to establish Righi as a leading international player, recognized for innovation, technical excellence, and the ability to drive the industrial and digital transformation of our customers.”
