How EN+ UK drives EV charging innovation through scalable, compliant technology and strategic partnerships

Passionate about ‘Empowering Good Energy’, EN+ is the global EV charging technology company designing and developing the future of electric vehicles. Founded in 2015 in Shenzhen City, China, the company’s mission is simple, but transformational: to empower companies around the world to provide sustainable EV charging ecosystems that are compliant, reliable, and scalable in a rapidly changing market.

Over the past decade, EN+ has delivered more than 1.5 million chargers across more than 70 countries. The company is trusted by the world’s leading energy suppliers, EV charge point manufacturers, major automotive OEMs, and solar and energy storage brands – not as a consumer brand, but as the ODM and OEM partner that combines its EV charging expertise with each customer’s unique strength and value proposition through tailored customization. The company’s manufacturing base operates dedicated AC and DC production lines – with capacity for 70,000 AC units and 1000 DC units per month – and runs a closed-loop quality regime built around partner-approved change control, full serial-level traceability, hard-ware-in-the-loop validation, and automotive-grade environmental and reliability testing. Very few EV charger manufacturing facilities can achieve the quality standards EN+ maintains as standard. Manufacturing Today sits down with Nick Jenkinson, Managing Director of EN+ UK, and Ryan Prakoso, Head of Product and Project Delivery at EN+ UK, to learn more about how EN+ is driving the evolution of EV charging across the UK and Europe.

“Our internal tagline is ‘Empowering Good Energy,’” Nick begins. “What that means in practice is that we seek long-term partners and customers who share the spirit of working together to make the world a bet-ter place. We combine our competitive technology and manufacturing capability with their unique value proposition. Even though our customers may operate in the same market, their end users see different propositions – different brands, different services, different pricing models. In that sense, we help democratize sustainable mobility, one EV charger at a time.

“Our portfolio covers the full range, from 7kW residential AC chargers right through to 480kW DC fast chargers – all built on a foundation of compliant firmware, cybersecurity-focused design, IoT connectivity, and cloud platform capability. Our engagement models are equally flexible – from simple white label supply, through to fully customized ODM projects where the customer retains complete control of the IP, software backend, and cybersecurity posture. We have even taken on partners who invested heavily – in some cases millions of US dollars – trying to develop their own charger designs, could not get them com-pliant, and came to us to reengineer from scratch at a fraction of the original cost. That kind of value is hard to find elsewhere.”

“We are active members of the International Energy Agency Task 53 on Interoperable Bidirectional Charging, CharIN, BEAMA, the Open Charge Alliance, and other sustainable technology related associations,” says Ryan. “We run a dedicated localization program that converts evolving regulations into region-ready product variants and technology platforms – covering the UK’s Smart Secure Electricity Systems (SSES) program, the EU’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), ISO 15118-20 Amendment 1, IEC 61851 Edition 4, and many other evolving standards and regulations related to EV charging. Our partners benefit because we absorb that regulatory complexity on their behalf.”

The company’s strong focus on regulatory readiness naturally extends into how it designs and future-proofs its technology platforms. By embedding compliance considerations early in its development processes, EN+ translates complex policy landscapes into practical, forward-thinking solutions. In this way,

Technology

EN+ is helping to balance energy supply and demand by actively evolving its technologies to accommodate AC V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) and other evolving technology, further proving its position as a real industry leader.

“We are at the forefront of AC V2G development for the UK and EU markets, Ryan states. “Our latest plat-form already features a PCBA designed to support bidirectional charging, with GreenPHY PLC communication and a future-proof, secure communication chip designed to anticipate IoT technology developments over the next five to seven years. We see a major opportunity here, especially with the drafts of upcoming regulations that we are tracking through our industry memberships,” Ryan explains. “We are actively iterating, testing, and deploying our electronic platform so that our partners and customers can be ahead of the market when V2G becomes commercially viable. Our goal is simple: when the standards are finalized, our partners will already have compliant, field-proven hardware ready to go.”

As the EV sector accelerates towards a more connected, regulated, and intelligent future, EN+ brings together scale, technical capability, and strategic vision to help its partners navigate that complexity with confidence – and stay ahead of market shifts today and in the decades to come.

“In the next three to five years, we want EN+ to be recognized as the go-to technology and manufacturing partner for EV charging across the UK and Europe – not as a brand that consumers see on the street, but as the company behind the brands they trust,” Nick reveals. “Our ambition is to deepen the partnerships we’re building today into long-term relationships, where we grow together with our customers and help them focus on what they do best – serving their own customers and growing their own brands. As the market matures, the companies that win won’t be the ones competing on hardware price alone: they’ll be the ones delivering compliant, reliable, and scalable products backed by a partner who understands the full picture. ‘Empowering Good Energy’ is a long-term commitment. We’re here to build something that lasts.”
