SolarEdge Technologies, Inc., a global player in smart energy technology, is expanding its presence in the US with a significant manufacturing site in Salt Lake City, Utah. The facility is now producing and shipping the ‘USA Edition’ Home Battery, marking an important milestone in the company’s plan to build more products locally and support American energy independence. As global supply chains shift, SolarEdge’s domestic production strategy positions it to meet rising demand for locally made solar-plus-storage systems while cutting wait times for installers and homeowners.
Strengthening domestic manufacturing and job creation
This Salt Lake City site joins SolarEdge’s other US plants in Florida and Texas, adding more than 2,000 new manufacturing jobs nationwide. The new roles range from skilled technical jobs to operations and logistics, boosting local economies and supporting the growth of clean energy employment across the country. Utah’s congressional leaders have welcomed the investment, highlighting the state’s position in rebuilding American manufacturing. Representative Celeste Maloy said local production keeps Utah at the center of the national energy conversation.
Meeting domestic content requirements and energy policy goals
SolarEdge’s expanded production also aligns with shifting federal policies. Incentives like the Inflation Reduction Act reward companies that produce key components in the US. By building the USA Edition Home Battery and its full lineup of inverters and power optimizers domestically, SolarEdge helps customers qualify for tax credits tied to domestic content rules. This approach supports homeowners and commercial operators with reliable solar-plus-storage solutions that meet incentive requirements and deliver dependable performance.
Strengthening supply chain resilience and customer trust
Producing technology closer to US customers is vital for supply chain resilience. Onshoring reduces risks tied to overseas shipping and global disruptions while enabling quicker delivery and steady product availability. Company leaders see this expansion as an extension of their promise to deliver durable, high-quality technology designed for local needs. The Salt Lake City site supports growing demand for home energy storage systems that store excess solar power and lower electricity costs during peak demand, while also improving grid stability.
SolarEdge’s domestic investment fits with national goals to strengthen US energy security and speed up the shift to renewable power. By producing advanced batteries and inverters in Utah, Florida and Texas, the company is helping build a more resilient energy system that supports economic growth.
